Trip to Macau
Over the Christmas period my husband and I attended a charity auction organised by his work at RTHK (Hong Kong radio), it’s a yearly event, but this year was a biggie with it being Operation Santa Claus’ 25th Anniversary.
I had my eye on a luxurious dinner for two at the Belon restaurant in the Banyan Tree hotel in Macau. I bid like crazy and guess what? I won!
So over the weekend we set out on our
little jaunt to Macau, it’s an hour ferry ride away from my home in Hong Kong.
For those of you unfamiliar with Macau, it is part of China, but it used to be
a Portuguese colony and still retains a lot of this heritage. Whilst in recent
years it has been re-developed into the biggest gambling destination in Asia, a
bit like a Las Vegas of the East!!

It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a little stroll around the old town, I wore the new Dahlia Hannah blouse and it fitted in perfectly with my European surroundings. The old buildings looked so pretty with their decorations for Chinese New Year.
Dahlia Hannah Blouse, Monki Jeans, Zara Shoes, Furla Candy Bag, Monkey Bite Tokyo Sunglasses.
I love the road signs in Macau, they are a
mix of Portuguese and Chinese writing and somehow these 2 styles work together
really well!

Later in the day we checked into our room
at The Banyan Tree hotel as we thought we may as well stay the night! We got
changed for dinner and headed down to the restaurant.

Being a bit of a foodie, I was really
looking forward to my dinner. We started with oysters which were paired with
raspberry vinaigrette, chilli or cognac dressings. That got the meal off to a
great start and the wine started flowing too!! I ordered steak for my main and
Tim ordered pork belly, good job we’re not on diets! The desert platter arrived
and it did not disappoint, see my photo below to see I’m not exaggerating!
After finishing the meal we were on a high, we thought it would be rude not to
try a little gambling. Big mistake!!! We both lost, but never mind we’d had a
day to remember.

Love Leigh x
