Happy Year of Snake
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!! For those of you who don't know, 2013 is the year of the snake in the Chinese zodiac. We wish you all "sum sheung si shing" (all your wishes come true) ♥
Whist preparing for Chinese New Year, many Chinese people visit traditional new year markets to buy snacks and decorations. Leigh, one half of the sister duo behind Dahlia who resides in Hong Kong, has visited the biggest new year market at Victoria Park and got some lovely photos taken to share with us!
This was my very first time visiting the Chinese new year market, and it was much more interesting and fun than I expected. Basically the market was divided into 3 sections, home decorations, cooked food and the legendary flower market.
Wearing Dahlia Sienna Jacket, Calbee "Hot & Sweaty" Crisps tote (a famous crisps brand in Hong Kong and Japan) bought from the market & H&M jeans.

Showing my true Hong Kong style, I did strike a pose with a peace sign : )
Fluffy and colourful pom-pom mum flowers, in Chinese culture they represent prosperity.

So cute and funny! Those flowers are gorgeous.
I am a Year of the Snake girl :) I adore those Lucky cats; I have two at home. Depending which arm is raised, it is for luck or money. Id adore going to that market, I love pottering around a market! Those soaps are amazing – I thought they were Goldfish style Sushi at first!
Those goldfish soaps scared me for a second.
Those pom-pom mums are awesome! Also I want one of those cat dolls hanging under the doughnut cats…too cute.
Ooh! That looks so fun! I’d have a blast walking around and looking everything (I’m such a tourist! Even in my own city I look at new places with wide-eyed wonder)!
Year of the Snake – my year! I bet visiting the market was truly amazing. So many vibrant colours, how inspiring! Xxx
