Allow us to introduce you to our homegirl Fifi Newbery. If you're a hard core Dahlia fan, you may also recognize her from our look book back in 2009! Get to know Fifi here. x
Hi Fifi, tell us a little bit about yourself?
I am a model and a blogger living in London with my exceptionally handsome Chihuahua Mr. Ping Ping. I have been a model for six years and a blogger for about one of those using my blog to keep in touch with family and friends whilst working in the crazy industry that is fashion.
How long ago did you model for Dahlia? Where has your career taken you next?
I worked for Dahlia back when my mum and I had just moved from our sleepy little hometown the Isle Of Wight to London all the way back in 2009 for your Spring Summer Lookbook. I even remember leaving the studio and heading to your Carnaby Street boutique to get a couple of dresses for myself.
Since working with the lovely guys and gals at Dahlia I have travelled the world with my job as a model and taken a leap into the world of blogging, both have taken me to places I could never have dreamed of and I am thankful for every single moment.
Tell us your beauty secrets? What's your recent beauty purchase?
I absolutely love anything to do with beauty and skincare, but I know that everyone has different needs when it comes to their skin.
I try to chance my skincare based on the seasons, in the colder months I take it up a gear when it comes to moisturizer I swap regular face washes to oil based cleansers and slather my lips in Dr Paw Paw’s lip balm.
In the summer months my face and body gets covered in SPF at all times. I take no chances with getting sun burnt as it is my job.
My most recent beauty purchase was Benefits “They’re Real” mascara, usually I am a slave to YSL’s Faux Cils mascara but have head so many great things about Benefits mascara that I had to give it a go. I can honestly say that I don’t know why I ever used anything else.
Which is your favourite Dahlia piece and why?
I love this Tiffany midi skirt, its cute enough to wear on a girly coffee date but also smart enough if I was heading to an event. I am also a huge lover of clothes that can be dressed up or down and this pretty much ticks all the boxes.
Dahlia dresses will always hold a place in my heart though.
What are your plans this summer?
In the summer I just want to spend as much time outside as humanly possible, as well as reporting on some festivals for Hunger Magazine I am off on my travels to backpack around South East Asia for a month.
I am excited to see more of the world and there is something about getting lost for a while that really excites me.
