We love Australian illustrator, Caitlin Shearer and her dreamy watercolour paintings. Working out of her bedroom studio in Sydney, Caitlin composes delicate watercolour portraits that are beautiful and feminine featuring pale skinned day dreaming girls who are depicted alone in quiet romantic notions.
While these retro-esque beauties appear idyllic, odd details such as quirky playful characters, colours and text add a faint yet contradictory oddness to the work, which she describes as “offbeat, vulgar prettiness”.
We adore Caitlin’s inspiring work and a little birdy tells me we are going to be seeing more of this girl!
